Solution

The equation given = p (x) = 2x^2 + 3x - 5 = 0

D = b^2-4ac

Here , a = 2 ,b = 3 , c = -5

So , (3)^2 - 4 × 2× -5

= 9 + 40 = 49

So, D = 49

The discriminant is 49 .
