Given quadratic equation

√x^2+x+1=2

Squaring both the sides

=>X^2+x+2 = 4

=>X^2+x-2 = 0

Discriminant for a quadratic equation

ax^2-bx+c = 0

is given by

 D = b^2 -4ac

 Since b = 1 and a = 1 and c = -2

 D = 1 – 4(-2)

 D = 1+8

 9
