 {x}^{2}  + 5x + 5 = 0

a=1 ,b=5 ,c=5

d =  {b}^{2}  - 4ac

 =  {5}^{2}  - 4 \times 1 \times 5

 = 25 - 20

 = 5

.: discriminant is 5 .

x²+5x+5=0

Comparing with ax²+bx+c=0 we get

a = 1, b = 5, c = 5

So the Discriminant

= b² - 4ac

= 5²-4×1 ×5

= 25 - 20

= 5
