Quadratic equation $\sf 2x²+5x+5=0$ comparing it with $\sf ax^{2}+bx+c=0$

Then,

a = 2, b = 5 and c = 5

 \sf

 \rm \: D=b^2−4ac

 \rm \:  =(5)^2 −4(2)(5)

 \rm=25−40

 \rm \: = - 15

∴ Discriminant of given quadratic equation is -15.
