Hey!!!!

________

We have

=> x² - 3x + 1/2 = 0

We know D = b² - 4ac

=> D = (-3)² - 4(1)(1/2)

=> D = 9 - 2

=> D = 7

Thus D > 0

The roots are real and distinct

___________

Hope this helps ✌️

laydon: Thanks
RishabhBansal: welcome
laydon: How does the half vanishes
RishabhBansal: the 2 of Half cancels the 4 and become 2

Hii friend,

X²-3X+1/2 = 0

A = 1 , B = -3 and C = 1/2

Therefore,

D = (b²-4ac)

=> {(-3)² - 4 × 1 × 1/2)}

=> 9 - 4 × 1/2

=> 9 - 2 = 7

HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU.... :-)

RishabhBansal: just a correction plz delete p(x) from your answer because it's an equation not a polynomial
RishabhBansal: ok your choice
