As you know that in a velocity-time graph, we can find the distance by finding the area under the graph.

In this case, the area under the graph is in the shape of a trapezium ABCO.

Area of a trapezium = (height/2)*(length of parallel side 1 + length of parallel side 2)

⇒(h/2)*(a+b)

In this case, height of the trapezium (h) = 10 m

Length of a = 4 – 2

= 2

Length of b = 8

Therefore,

Displacement (S) = (10/2)×(2+8)

= 5*10

= 50 m
