By the distance formula :D= √[(x−x1)^2+(y−y1)^2]

Where, (x,y) and (x1,y1) are P(3,1) and origin (0,0) respectively.

Now,

D = √[(3−0)^2+(1−0)^2]

D = √10

 ∴ Distance between given two points is √10 units
