given ,
focal length (f) =-20 cm
image distance (v) = -45 cm
now object distance (u)=?
use mirror formula,
1/u+1/v=1/f
1/u +1/(-45)=1/(-20)
1/u=1/45-1/20
=(4-9)/180=-1/36
u=-36
hence object distance from the pole of mirror in left side is 36 cm
