Given:-

  • L(5,-8)
  • M(-7,-3)

where,

x_{1} = 5

x_{2} =  - 7

y_{1} =  - 8

y_{2} =  - 3

To Find:-

the distance betweeen the points L(5,-8) and M(-7,-3)

Solution:-

To Find the Distance between 2 points then we will use Distance formula

√[(x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²]

substituting the values

√[( - 7 - 5)^{2} + ( - 8 + 3)^{2}]

  =  > \sqrt{ { - 12}^{2} +  { - 5}^{2}  }

 =  >  \sqrt{144 + 25}

 =  >  \sqrt{169}

 =  >  13

Hence,

the Distance between the points L(5,-8) and M(-7,-3). is 13 sq. units
