X(7,-11)
take that x1 = 7 , y1 = -11

Y(-2,5)
take that x2 = -2 , y2 = 5

d = ?
d =
 \sqrt{(x2 - x1) {}^{2} + \: (y2 - y1) { }^{2} } \\ = \sqrt{( - 2) - 7) {}^{2} + (5 - ( - 11)) { }^{2} } \\ = \sqrt{ \: ( - 9) {}^{2} + (16) { }^{2} } \\ = \: \sqrt{81 + 256} \\ = \sqrt{337}
distance between point X and Y is √337

By distance formula,

Distance= √{[7-(-2)]² +[-11-5]²}

Distance = √{(7+2)² +(-16)²}

Distance = √{9²+16²}

Distance = √{81+256}

Distance =√337 units

I hope this will help you
