SOLUTION :-

Distance = √ (1-√2-1)² + (2-√2-2)²

= √(-2)²+(-2)² = √2+2

= 2

Distance between these two points is 2 units

We find distance between two points

having coordinates A(x1,y1) & B (x2,y2)

by using the distance formula as:-

Distance  \: between \:  A  \: and \:  B =  \sqrt{ {(x_2 -x_1) }^{2} +{(y_2 - y_1)}^{2}}</p><p>

By

putting the values of these variables in the given distance formula we can find distance between two points A & B very easily as shown in the attachment .
