Distance between 2 points = √[ (y₂ - y₁)² + (x₂ - x₁)² ]

In the given case,

x₁ = P                        y₁ = -3

x₂ = 10                      y₂ = -9

Hence,

Distance = √ [ (-9 - -3)² + (10 - P)² ]

                = √ [ (3 - 9)² + 10² + P² - 20P ]

                = √ [6² + 100 + P² - 20P]

                = √ [36 + 100 + P² - 20P]

                = √ [136 + P² - 20P]

Step-by-step explanation:

use distance formula.....

 \sqrt{{(10 - p)}^{2} +{ ( - 9 -  - 3)}^{2} }

 \sqrt{100 +  {p}^{2}  - 20p + 36}

 \sqrt{ {p}^{2}  - 20p + 136}

 \sqrt{20 +  -  \sqrt{400 - 4 \times 136} }

this \: gives \: imaginary \: roots \:

thus \: no \: solution
