Answer:

Explanation:

Given :

  • Points are a(2, -3) & b(2, 2).

To Find :

  • Distance between them.

Formula to be used :

  • Distance formula, ie,.. d = √(x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²

Solution :

Distance between them,

d = √(x2- x1)² + (y2 - y1

⇒ d = √(2 - 2)² + (-3 - 2)²

⇒ d = √(0)² + (-5)²

⇒ d = √(-5)²

⇒ d = √25

d = 5 units

Hence, Distance between them is 5 units.

Know to more:

  • Section formula, ie,.. x = (mx2 + nx1/m + n) & y = (my2 + ny1/m + n).
  • Midpoint formula, ie,.. x = x1 + x2/2 & y = y1 + y2/2.
  • Centroid formula, ie,.. x = x1 + x2 + x3/3 & y = y1 + y2 + y3/3.
  • Slope formula, ie,.. m = y2 - y1/x2 - x1.
