Solution:

Let A(a+b,a-b) = (x1,y1)

B(a-b,-a-b) = (x2,y2)

Distance between A and B

= AB

= (x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²

=[a-b-(a+b)]²+[-a-b-(a-b)]²

=(a-b-a-b)²+(-a-b-a+b)²

=(-2b)²+(-2a)²

= 4b²+4a²

=4(+)

= 2(+)

Therefore,

AB = 2a²+
