Answer:

We have distance formula to find distance between two points whose coordinates are

(x1,y1)and(x2,y2)

Given by,

Distance between points =

\sqrt{{(x_2-x_1)}^{2}+{(y_2-y_1)}^{2}}

Here two given points are O(0,0) and P(- 3, 4).

Applying distance formula we get,

Distance AO is

 \sqrt{ {( - 3 - 0)}^{2} +  {(4 - 0)}^{2}  }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{ {( - 3)}^{2} +  {4}^{2}  }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{9 + 16}  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{25}  \\  \\ =5units

So,

distance between two given points is 5 units .
