length of tall building = 8 meter

let length of multi-storey building = l(PB) = 'x' meter

l(PC) = (x-8) meter

In triangle PCB,

angle BPC = 90 - 30 = 60 degree

tan(60) = BC / PC = BC / (x-8)

√3 = BC / (x-8)

BC = √3 × (x-8)

In triangle APB,

angle APB = 90 - 45 = 45 degree

tan(45) = AB / PB

tan (45) = AB / x

1 = AB / x

AB = x

Now, we know that AB = BC (both are the distance between tall building and multi-storey building)

Hence, x = √3 × (x-8)

x = √3x - √3×8

x(1 - √3) = √3×8

x =  \frac{  - \sqrt{3} \times 8 }{1 -  \sqrt{3} }

x = 18.9282 meter

Height of multi-storey building = 18.9282 meter

Distance between building = AB = x = 18.9282 meter
