Answer:

Given –

  • Radius of the circular distance = 3.5.
  • Cow completes 1 round around the pole.

To Find –

  • Distance travelled.

Solution –

Distance covered will be the circumference of one round travelled by the cow.

➸ Circumference = 2πr

➸ Circumference = 2 * 22/7 * 3.5

➸ Circumference = 2 * 22/7 * 35/10

➸ Circumference = 2 * 22 * 5/10

➸ Circumference = 2* 22/2

➸ Circumference = 22 m

Hence, distance travelled by cow is 22 m.

IMPORTANT TERMS –

  • Distance is the total path travelled by the body.
  • Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial position and the final position of the body.
  • Distance is a scalar quantity.
  • Displacement is a vector quantity.
  • Speed is the rate of change of distance.
  • Speed is a scalar quantity.
  • Velocity is the rate of change of displacement.
  • Velocity is a vector quantity.

\bigstar Solution :

\bigstar Question :

  • Find the distance covered by a cow tied with a rope 3.5 m long to a pole.
  • If it completes 1 round making the rope stretched.

\bigstar To Find :

  • Distance covered by a cow for 1 round.

\bigstar Explanation :

\star Rope that is tied to the cow is nothing but radius of circle r .

\star  and Distance covered by a cow is nothing but circumference of circle.

➸ Circumference of circle, C = 2πr

C = 2π(3.5)

➸ C = 2*22/7*3.5

➸ C = 2*22/2

C = 22

\star Hence , Distance covered by a cow is 22 meters
