As per data given in the question,

We have to determine the distance covered by car in 15 minutes.

As per question,

It is given that,

Speed of car = 40 Km/Hr

Means, the car will covers a distance of 40 Km in 1 Hour.

So, we can say that,

Car will cover 40 Km in 60 minutes.

So, we can say that,

The distance covered in 1 minutes will be =\frac{40}{60} \: =\frac{2}{3}\:Km

So, for finding the distance covered in 15 minutes we will multiply the distance covered by car in 1 minutes by 15 minutes.

So, distance covered in 15 minutes will be

=\frac{2}{3}\times 15 = 10\:Km

Hence, car will cover 10 Km in 15 minutes.

Here we have to find the distance covered

We are given time and speed

Time = 15 minutes

We will first convert into hour

60 minutes = 1 hour

15 minutes = 15 / 60

= 1 / 4 hour

Speed is given to be 40 km / hr

Speed = distance / time

Distance = speed × time

= 40 × 1 / 4

= 10 km

Hence, the distance covered will be 10 km
