=√{radius² - (length of chord/2)²}
Here, radius = 10 cm
Length of chord = 16 cm
So distance =
√{10² - (16/2)²}
=>√{ 10² - 8²}
=> √(100 - 64)
=> √(36)
=> 6 cm
Hence the distance from the centre to the chord is 6 cm
