SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The domain and range of the relation

 \sf{R =  \{(x, {x}^{3} ) : x \:  is \: a \: prime \: number \: less \: than \: 10 \} }

EVALUATION

Here the given relation is

 \sf{R =  \{(x, {x}^{3} ) : x \:  is \: a \: prime \: number \: less \: than \: 10 \} }

Now x is a prime number less than 10

The prime numbers less than 10 are 2, 3, 5, 7

Therefore x = 2, 3, 5, 7

Hence

R = {( 2, 8 ), ( 3,27 ), ( 5, 125 ), ( 7, 343 ) }

Hence

The Domain of R = { 2, 3, 5, 7 }

The Range of R = { 8, 27, 125, 343 }

Answer:

Domain R={2,3,5,7}, Range R={8,27,125,343}.

We have,

R={(x,x3):x is a prime number less than 10}={(2,8),(3,27),(5,125),(7,343)}

∴ Domain(R)={2,3,5,7}, and Range (R)={8,27,125,343}.
