Answer:

Domain of x  = { x = 1/3 , - 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the domain for which the function

f(x) = 3x2— 1 and g(x) = 1 — 5x are equal.

Also find a domain for which the functions  are not equal.

f(x) = 3x² - 1

g(x) = 1 - 5x

f(x) = g(x)

3x² - 1 = 1 - 5x

=>  3x² + 5x - 2 = 0

=> 3x² + 6x - x - 2 = 0

=> 3x(x + 2) -1(x + 2) = 0

=> (3x -1)(x + 2) = 0

=> x = 1/3  & x = -2

Domain of x  = { x = 1/3 , - 2}

domain for which the functions  are not equal will be any number other than 1/3 , - 2
