f ( x ) = x 2 − 9 x − 3

f(x)=x2−9x−3 is not defined for x – 3 = 0, i.e., x = 3.

∴Domain of f is R – {3}. Let  y = x 2 − 9 x − 3 y=x2−9x−3 ⇒ y = x + 3 (for x ≠ 3)

∴  y will take all real values of x, except 6, when x ∈ R – {3}.

∴  Range of f = R – {6}
