find the electric potential at a point ,when a work of 2.5*10^-5 J is done to carry charge of 5 micro coulomb to that point
Answers
Given :
- Work done for carrying charge to a point, W = 2.5 × 10⁻⁵ J
- Amount of charge carried, Q = 5 μC
To find :
- Electric potential at a point, V =?
Formula required :
- Formula to calculate Electric potential
V = W / Q
[ Where V is electric potential in Volt, W is work done in Joule, and Q is charge in Coulomb ]
Solution :
Converting Charge given in micro coulomb unit ot coulomb
→ Q = 5 μC
since, 1 μC = 10⁻⁶ C therefore,
→ Q = 5 × 10⁻⁶ C
Calculating Electric potential at the point
→ V = W / Q
→ V = (2.5 × 10⁻⁵) / ( 5 × 10⁻⁶ )
→ V = 2.5 × 10 / 5
→ V = 5 V
Hence,
- Electric Potential at the point will be equal to 5 Volts .

➡What is coulomb law???

➡ Coulomb's law, or Coulomb's inverse-square law, is an experimental law of physics that quantifies the amount of force between two stationary, electrically charged particles. The electric force between charged bodies at rest is conventionally called electrostatic force or Coulomb force.
