energy of photon is 3.9756 × 10^-16 J .

According to quantum theory,

energy of photon , E = hc/λ

as you know h is Plank's constant, c is speed of light in vaccum and λ is wavelength of photon.

here wavelength , λ = 0.5 mm = 0.5 × 10^-9 m

h = 6.626 × 10^-34 J.s [ experimental value ] and c = 3 × 10^8 m/s

now E = 6.626 × 10^-34 × 3 × 10^8/(0.5 × 10^-9)

= 6.626 × 6 × 10^(-34 + 8 + 9)

= 39.756 × 10^-17 J

= 3.9756 × 10^-16 J

hence, energy of photon is 3.9756 × 10^-16 J
