Mass of the object = 10 kg....... Height from the ground = 6m..... . To find the potential energy ... so,.. P.E= mgh So,. = mgh = 10 × 9.8× 6 = 588 JOULE.

Potential Energy of 588 Joule is possessed by object which is of mass 10 kg.

Solution:

Energy is the capacity to be able to do a work, hence the energy possessed by the object above a certain height be calculated as follows,

As we know that the Energy possessed by the object at a certain height without motion, is the potential energy. And potential energy formula is,

Potential Energy = m g h

As given, mass m = 10 kg

Height h = 6 m

Potential Energy = 10 \mathrm{kg} \times 9.8 \frac{\mathrm{m}}{\mathrm{s}^{2}} \times 6 \mathrm{m}

Potential energy = 588 Joule
