Question :-

  • Find the equation of line which is parallel to i + j + k and passes through the point (2,3,1).

Answer

Given :-

  • A line passes through the point (2, 3, 1) and parallel to i + j + k

To find :-

  • Equation of line

Formula used :-

Equation of line passes through the point (p, q, r) and having direction ratio (a, b, c) is given by

\bf \:\dfrac{x - p}{a} =  \dfrac{y - q</p><p>}{b}  = \dfrac{z - r}{c}

Solution:-

Since line is parallel to i + j + k

⇛ direction ratios of line is (1, 1, 1).

So, equation of line passes through (2, 3, 1) having direction ratios (1, 1, 1) is

\bf \:\dfrac{x - 2}{1} =  \dfrac{y - 3</p><p>}{1}  = \dfrac{z - 1}{1}

\bf\implies \:x - 2 = y - 3 = z - 1
