Answer:

Find the slope of the line whose point are (1,2) and (-1,5).

slope(m) = ( y2−y1 )/( x1−x2 )

m = (5 - 2)/(-1–1) = -3/2

Since the line is parallel, both lines have the same slope.

Using the point-slope method:

(y - y 1 ) = m × (x - x 1 )

(y - (-3)) = -3/2 × (x - 2)

y + 3 = (-3/2)x +3

y = -(3/2)x

Answer is: y = -(3/2)x
