Find the equation of a line which passes through the point (2, -3) and the point of intersection of the lines x + y + 4 = 0 and 3x - y - 8 = 0.

Coordinates of point:(2,-3)

So x=2 and y=-3

Equation passing through this point:

X+Y=-1

(Infinity equation can pass through this point so you can form many more like x-y=5 which get satisfied by this point)

INTERSECTING POINT:

X+Y+4=0

X=-4-Y

NOW 3X-Y-8=0

3(-4-Y)-Y-8=0

-12-3Y-Y=8

-4Y=20

Y=-5

AS X=-4-Y

SO VALUE OF X=1

COORDINATES OF POINT ARE (1,-5)
