General Equation of a plane is :   a x + b y + c z = d.         --- (1)
      here a, b, c, d are real coefficients.
=====================================
usually the same symbols a,b,c are used to represent equations.

In intercept form it is simpler :          x / a + y / b + z / c = 1         --- (2)
where a , b and c are intercepts of the plane on x , y and z axes.

Coefficients a,b, c in eq (1) and  eq (2) are related by ratios.

Anonymous: coinciding variables are confusing with the two forms
Anonymous: Accordingly comparing with the general form it shows that a = b = c = root(d)
kvnmurty: both equations are different. you cannot equate "a", "b", "c" in the first equation with that in the second equation.
kvnmurty: same symbols are used in many equations. does not mean that they have same meaning.
perfectbrainly: sir,s answer is right

general equation of a line is
ax + by + cz = d

in intercept form

x/(d/a) + y/(d/b)+z/(d/c) = 1

with intercept of d/a , d/b , d/c on x-axis , y-axis and z- axis respectively.

kvnmurty: good answer.
