a = - b ....(1)
eqn passes through -2,4
-2/a + 4/b = 1.....(2)
put the value of a from (1) in (2)
2/b + 4/b =1
6/b = 1
b = 6
a = -6
eqn is x/(-6) + y/6 = 1
-x +y = 6 Ans
