Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The point (2,-3) and slope √3

To find:-

Find the equation of straight line passing through the point (2,-3) and slope √3

Solution:-

Given point is (2,-3)

Let x1 = 2 and y1 = -3

Slope = √3

m = √3

We know that

The equation of a straight line passing through the point (x1, y1) and the slope m is

y - y1 = m ( x - x1)

On Substituting these values in the above formula then

=> y - (-3) = √3 ( x - 2)

=> y + 3 = √3 ( x -2)

=> y +3 = √3 x - 2√3

=> √3x -2√3-y-3 = 0

=>√3x -y -2√3-3 = 0

or

=>√3x -y -(2√3+3) = 0

Answer :-

The required equation for the given problem is √3x -y -2√3-3 = 0 (or)

3x -y -(2√3+3) = 0

Used formulae:-

  • The equation of a straight line passing through the point (x1, y1) and the slope m is y - y1 = m ( x - x1)
