Given :  circle with centre (1, 1) and radius 2^0.5

To find : Equation of circle

Solution:

Equation of circle

(x - h)² + ( y - k)² = r²

(h , k ) is center of circle

r = radius of circle

Center is ( 1 , 1) => h = 1  & k = 1

radius of circle = √2  => r = √2

putting these values

(x - 1)² + ( y - 1)² = (√2)²

=> x² - 2x + 1 + y² - 2y + 1  = 2

=> x² + y² - 2x - 2y = 0

x² + y² - 2x - 2y = 0  is the equation of the circle with centre (1, 1) and radius 2^0.5
