Given : The slope is 5 passing through (-1,4).

To Find : (a) In slope intercept form y = mx + b

(b) in standard form ax + by = 1.

Solution:

The slope is 5

passing through (-1,4)

y = mx + b

m = 5

=> y = 5x + b

passing through (-1,4)

=> 4 = 5(-1) + b

=> 4 = -5 + b

=> 9 = b

=> y = 5x  +  9

   y = mx  + b

=> -5x  + y  = 9

=> -5x/9  + y/9  = 1

=> (-5/9)x  + (1/9)y = 1

     ax + by = 1
