Given :  slope of line m= -5  and passing through point P (-1,-2)

To Find : Equation of the line

Solution:

Equation of a line with slope m and passing through (x₁ , y₁) is given by :

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

m = -5

x₁ = -1

y₁ = - 2

y - (-2) = -5(x - (-1))

=> y + 2 = -5x  - 5

=> 5x + y + 7 = 0

Equation of the line is 5x + y + 7 = 0
