Find the equation of the line passing through the point

Answer:

Let intercept on x axis be 'a' units

and intercept on y axis is 'a' units.

Therefore the equation of line is

 \frac{x}{a}  +  \frac{y}{a}  = 1

x + y = a .....[1]

Since [1] passes through (4, 5)

so 4 + 5 = a

a = 9.

So equation [1] become

x + y = 9.
