Find the equation of the line perpendicular to the line x-2y+3=0 and passing throug

Slope of given line 2y=x+3 is 1/2.

Let m be the slope of the line which is perpendicular to the above line having slope 1/2.

Since the two lines are perpendicular, the product of their slopes must be equal to -1.

m.(1/2)=-1

So, m= -2

Now , the line passes through point (1,-2).

So, by point slope form , its equation is

y-(-2)=(-2)(x-1)

y+2=-2x+2

y+2x=0

So, the line is y+2x=0
