therefore if parallel gradient are negative reciprocal 3/2x negative reciprocal will be -2/3. that's the gradient

therefore y=mx + c where m is the gradient and c is the y intercept

Now we know the formula for equation of a straight line substitute the points in

8 = -2/3(-2) + c

8 = 4/3 + c

c =20/3 or 6.67

Equation of the line perpendicular to that line is y=-2/3x + 20/3
