Equation of the given line is 2y = 2x -1. or, y = x -1/2. …………………(1).

Slope of this line (1) = 1.

Slope of a line perpendicular to (1) = -1.

Let the equation of a line perpendicular to (1) is y = -1.x + c…………(2) Line (2) passes through (1,3) therefore :-

3 = -1 +c. => c = 4.

Putting c = 4 in eqn. (2) the required equation is y = - x + 4. Answer.
