Step-by-step explanation:

as quesn said...passing through point (3,4) and Intercept on axis equal in magnitude but opposite in sign .

so two cases arises.

case:1...

when x-intercept is -ve and Y-intercept is positive and Intercept magnitude is "k"

Then using intercept formula of st.line i.e (x/a)+ (y/b) = 1 ,put a=-k , b=k and point (x,y)= (3,4) i.e -3/k + 4/k = 1 ,Hence "k" = 1 so straight line become { -x+y=1}.... Ans

Case:2

when x-intercept is +ve and Y-intercept is -ve and Intercept magnitude is "k"

Then again by using intercept formula of st.line i.e (x/a)+ (y/b) = 1 ,put a=k , b=-k and point (x,y)= (3,4) i.e 3/k - 4/k = 1 ,Hence "k" = -1 so straight line become { -x+y=1}.... Ans
