The equation of the parabola whose vertex is the point (3,4) and focus is the point (1,2)

1. Focus of parabola ( 1, 2)

Vertex of parabola ( 3, 4)

2. The Distance between Focus and

vertex

a = √ ( 3 - 1 )^2 + ( 4 - 2 )^2

a = 2√2

3. The equation of parabola is

( y - 4 )^2 = 4×2√2×( x - 3 )

y^2 - 8y + 16 = 8√2x - 24√2
