Find the equation which is formed on dividing both sides of the equation.
(i) 5x = 7 by 5
(ii) 4x - 8 = 16 by 4
(iii) -x = 7 by -1
(iv) -2(1 - x) = -12 by -2​

1. 5x = 7 /5

=> 5x = 1.4

=> x = 1.4 /5

=> x = 2.8

2. 4x -8 = 16/4

=> 4x- 8 = 4

=> 4x = 4+8

=> 4x = 12

=> x = 12/4

=> x = 3

3. -x = 7/-1

=> -x = -7

then cut the subtraction sign(-)

=> x = 7

4. - 2(1-x ) = -12/-2

=> -2 +2x = 6

=> 2x = 6 +2

=> 2x = 8

=> x = 8/2

=> x = 4
