Answer:

Explanation:

1) 10mf+10mf=20mf

2) 1/(1/60+1/60+1/60)=1/(1/20)=20mf

3) 20+20=40mf

    1/(1/40+1/40)=1/(1/20)=20mf

The value of the equivalent capacitance will be 20 micro farad.

Step by step explanation:

In case of capacitors the  calculation of equivalent resistance is opposite to that of resistances. capacitance in parallel are added while in case of series the reciprocals of capacitors are added.

1) starting with parallel capacitors of 10 F

10 + 10 = 20  F

2)adding reciprocals of the three capacitors of 60 F in Series

\frac{1}{60} +\frac{1}{60} +\frac{1}{60} = \frac{3}{60} = 20 F

3) the equivalent of first parallel capacitors and Equivalent of the three series capacitors, are parallel to each other.

20 +20 = 40 F

4) the equivalent of all the capacitors and the remaining capacitor are in series with each other

\frac{1}{40} +\frac{1}{40} = \frac{2}{40} = 20 F1/40 +1/40 = 2/40 = 20 F
