Answer: The total equivalent resistance is 1.5 ohms

Explanation:There are three parallel circuits between A and B,

1st Parallel connection has  4ohms and 2ohms in series connection, therefore this parallel connection has effective resistance of 6ohms.

2nd Parallel has effective resistance of 4ohms

3rd Parallel connection has 2ohms and 2ohms in series resulting in effective resistance of 4ohms.

If we apply the formula -  Resistance in parallel - (1/Rp) = (1/R1) + (1/R2) + (1/R3) then,

(1/Rp) = (1/6) + (1/4) + (1/4)

Effective resistance or equivalent resistance = (3/2)ohms or 1.5 ohms
