R1 and R2 are in series as well R3 and R4 are in series since here from A to B (via C) the current remains undivided similarly from A to B ( via D) the current remains undivided.

Resistance of R1 and R2 = 4ohm+4ohm = 8 ohm

Resistance of R3 and R4 = 4ohm+4ohm = 8 ohm

combination of R1 -R2 (say R) // combination of R3 - R4 (say R5)

Equivalent resistance = (R×R5) / (R+R5)

= (8×8)/(8+8)

= 64 /16

= 4 ohm

So total resistance is 4 ohm . Ans
