Answer :

Five resistors of 2Ω are connected as shown in figure.

We have to find equivalent resistance between A and B.

[Refer to the attachment first]

R₂ and R₃ are connected in series :

⭆ R = R₂ + R₃

⭆ R = 2 + 2

R = 4 Ω

R and R₄ are connected in parallel :

⭆ 1/R' = 1/R + 1/R₄

⭆ 1/R' = 1/4 + 1/2

⭆ 1/R' = 3/4

R' = 4/3 Ω

R₁, R' and R₅ are connected in series :

⭆ Req = R₁ + R' + R₅

⭆ Req = 2 + 4/3 + 2

⭆ Req = 4 + 4/3

Req = 16/3 Ω
