In this given circuit .
All the resistance are in parallel combination .
=> 1/R=1/r+1/r+1/r
=>1/R=3/r
R=r/3 ohm
R(ab) = r/3 ohm
In parallel combination we add resistance by
1/R= 1/R1+ 1/R2 +1/R3.....
