In the square,

2ohm and 2 ohm are in series and 1ohm and 1 ohm are in series and both are in parallel.

Equalent for square,
(4×2)/4+2 = 4/3

Now 2 ohm , 4/3 ohm and 2 ohm are in series.

2+4/3+2
= 16/3 ohm
