i) Equivalent weight of CaCO3:

molecular mass of CaCO3=40+12+3X16

                                          =100u

molar mass=100g

no. of electrons involved is 2

equivalent weight=100/2

case 2) Equivalent weight of K₂SO₄.Al₂(SO₄)₃.24H₂O

molecular mass=2x39+32+1x4+2x27+3x(16+4x16) +24 (2x1+16)

                          =900u

molar mass=900g

no. of electron involved=8

=900/8
