Given : (7p + 2) / ( 8p² + 13p + 5)

To Find : excluded value

Solution:

(7p + 2) / ( 8p² + 13p + 5)

=  (7p + 2) / ( 8p² + 8p + 5p + 5)

=  (7p + 2) / ( 8p(p + 1) + 5(p + 1))

= (7p + 2) / ( (8p+5)(p + 1))

not defined when

8p + 5  = 0  or p + 1 = 10

=> p = - 5/8  , p = -1

=> p = -0.625 , - 1

Excluded values are

p = - 1 , - 0.625
