Given : a f- distribution variable with v₁= 7 and v₂ = 8

To Find : expectation for a f- distribution

Solution:

expectation for a f- distribution or mean value is given by :

v₂ / ( v₂ - 2 ) for v₂ > 2.

v₁= 7 and v₂ = 8

Substituting v₂ = 8

8/(8 - 2)

= 8/6

= 4/3

Hence  expectation for a f- distribution  variable with v₁= 7 and v₂ = 8

= 4/3

v₁ and v₂ denote the degrees of freedom of  f-Distribution.
